Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed tall pot, melt the sugar.
- Keep an eye on the sugar
- Warm the milk separately
- Scoop the liquid sugar over the solid sugar
- Remove the pot from the heat and add the milk
- Assess if the caramel is ready or needs to be returned to the stove
- Add in the salt
- Store in a heat-proof container
