- 1 pre-made pie crust (graham cracker or chocolate crust)
- 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups (355ml) cold milk
- 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed and divided
- 100g (3.5 oz) high-quality dark chocolate, melted and cooled
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
- Add Melted Chocolate: Stir in the melted and cooled dark chocolate until well combined.
- Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold in 3/4 of the thawed Cool Whip into the chocolate mixture, ensuring you maintain a light and fluffy texture.
- Assemble the Pie:Pour the chocolate mousse mixture into the pre-made pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until set.
- Garnish and Serve: Before serving, spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top of the pie. Garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer chocolate flavor, you can add more melted chocolate or mix in some cocoa powder.
- The pie can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
